Biography

ABOUT JACK MOBLEY

Jack Mobley is the Republican candidate for State Assembly District 17, which includes all of Merced County, the City of Newman in Stanislaus County, the city of Tracy and other portions of western San Joaquin County.

Military

Mobley is a combat veteran. He retired from the US Air Force in October, 2003, with the rank of Lt. Colonel. During his 22 years of service, he flew combat support missions in Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Kosovo. His military experience includes Instructor and Evaluator Navigator at Castle AFB, Operations Support Flight Commander at Beale AFB and Flight Commander at McClellan AFB. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Award, and Southeast Asia Service Ribbon.

Career and Business

Mobley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. As a credit analyst and bank loan officer, he administered a commercial loan portfolio of more than $50 million. Jack's got what California's economy needs: a comprehensive understanding of business cycles and large-scale financing and a reality check for the Legislators who are in denial over our chronic fiscal crisis.

Mobley has owned ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning Services since 1990, currently employing over 100 people in three counties. This business is one of the largest private sector employers in Merced. He launched the business, in part, to provide a door to productive employment – and realization of the American dream – for the Southeast Asian refugee population of Merced County. Jack’s business has succeeded in creating meaningful work for that underemployed population, and has done so without the tax dollars spent by the many expensive government training and employment programs that have been tried over the past 25 years. In the past 18 years, more than 1,000 Southeast Asian entry level workers have gotten the only thing they really needed to pursue the American dream: a chance.

Community and Family

Jack is a member of Merced County Planning Commission and sits on the Board of Directors of the Merced County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves his community as a member of the Merced Boosters and the Merced Breakfast Lions Club.

Jack resides in Merced with his wife, the former Sandra Fletcher.
